Lily Aldridge for the rag & bone D.I.Y. Project
The DIY Project, originally created in Spring 2011 and now reintroduced for Spring 2018, flips the traditional photo shoot on its head. An ongoing creative initiative, for which each subject is given a camera, a bag of clothes – all with the same remit – to interpret rag & bone in their own way. “The DIY Project was designed to focus on individuality and authenticity, two elements that have always been at the core of rag & bone. It’s awesome to see such a fascinating group of people translate personal style in their own way,” LILY ALDRIDGE Since her modeling career launched at age 16, she has worked with many of the fashion industry’s leading photographers, including Mert & Marcus, Boo George, and Tom Munro. Most notably, Lily became a Victoria’s Secret Angel in 2009, and appeared on the James Macari-lensed cover of the 50th Anniversary Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 2014. The five foot nine beauty has also graced the covers of numerous international editions of Vogue, Elle, GQ, and L'Officiel. Off duty, Lily is a cultural omnivore, and divides her time between New York City and Nashville, Tennessee. She enjoys film festivals, museums and galleries, and rock concerts—especially those fronted by her husband, Kings of Leon lead vocalist Caleb Followill. Lily is also a generous philanthropist who has been involved with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Born Free Africa campaign, and Baby Buggy, an organization dedicated to providing essential resources to families in need.
